Tigers & Only Tigers
Tigers & Only Tigers
As the name of this package suggests our only focus is to chase tigers on this tour. Even though we have come a long way from the days of old, there are certain things that still fascinate us, and one such thing is tigers. Tigers in India are world renowned for their ferocity, and there are numerous travellers who come to India to get a glimpse of the Royal Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat. There was a time when tigers used to be a threat to villagers in India, however, with time as human population kept increasing resulting in land area getting reduced significantly, the animal habitat naturally got diminished. Nowadays, the only place to view a tiger is an animal reserve or the zoo, but we recommend the reserve because you get a chance to see the tiger in all its glory. So here are the top places to spot the big cat in all its glory.
Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh
One of the most popular tiger spotting destinations in the present time is Bandhavgarh National Park, located in the Umaria district, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The park is best known for the best density of tiger population, and is divided into three zones. The park was once known as the land of white tigers, but unfortunately white tigers do not exist here anymore. Summers are again the best time because with temperatures soaring, animals tend to come together near the water bodies in search for drinking water. There are numerous other animals present here in the national park.
Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh
The famed Kanha National Park alongwith Pench National Park is known for its association with the Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book, as Mowgli's home and the place where he ran freely with his animal friends. Also known as Kanha Tiger Reserve, it stretches in two districts, namely, Mandla and Balaghat. There is quite a good number of Bengal Tigers and Indian Leopards, so you have a fairly good chance of tiger spotting. Covered by Sal and Bamboo forests, the beautiful Kanha National Park was formed way back in 1955. The summer months of April and May are the best times for you to visit the national park in order to spot tigers.
Pench National Park, Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra
An impeccable place to walk down the memory lanes of your childhood days of the famous story ‘The Jungle Book’.In the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh, Pench National Park is located in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur District of Maharashtra. Named after the pristine River Pench which flows through the park, it is one of the most popular wildlife reserves in India. The park also has its mention in the famous story of 1894, ‘The Jungle Book’, penned down by the renowned English Author Rudyard Kipling. Famous for it's beautiful settings which consists of several small hills, cliffs, ridges, lakes, grasslands and a river this reserve breeds a healthy population of tigers.
Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra
Maharashtra’s very own tiger reserve, Tadoba-Andheri Tiger Reserve is a great bet for tiger spotting. It is part of India’s Tiger Project, and is one among the 50 Tiger Reserves. There has been an increase in tiger sighting here at this Tiger Reserve, which makes your tiger spotting chances much stronger. There are numerous other animals to be spotted as well, which include Leopard, Wild Dog, Sloth Bear, Sambar, Barking Deer, Cheetal, Nilgai, and more. This Reserve was created in 1955, and since then it has been a haven for wild animals, especially the mighty Indian tiger. Summers are your best bet when it comes to tiger spotting here at Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan
A great place for visitors to spot a tiger, Ranthambore National Park is located near Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. The park is one of the largest in North West India, and once hosted Rajasthan’s royal families, who used to come here to hunt. In fact, Prince Philip had shot a tiger here way back in the 1960s during a visit. The park also includes an old fort that is dilapidated now. You can expect to see tigers all through out the year and the sighting enhances during the months of April, May and June.

Wild Rajputana
In spite of a comparatively hostile terrain, Rajasthan surprisingly is the abode of a number of mammals and birds. Its vast size and latitudinal variations above the sea level of 1,700m provides it with varied vegetation. It provides semi green forests of Mount Abu to dry grasslands of the desert, and from the dry deciduous thorn forest of Aravali to wetlands of Bharatpur.
Rajasthan is known as a hot and arid destination which is also home to the famed Thar Desert. However, this India’s largest state is still quite rich in wildlife and is blessed with a variety of vegetation and a plethora of animal and bird species. In fact, Rajasthan is one of the top destinations in India for tiger sighting and birdwatching.
The state has semi green forests; mountainous terrains; dry grasslands; dry deciduous thorn forest and even wetlands for a biodiverse wildlife to thrive. There are about 480 species of plants and trees that can be found in Rajasthan. It is also home to a number of national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and bird sanctuaries that make it to the top wildlife holiday destinations in India.
For tiger sighting, Rajasthan offers Ranthambhore and Sariska National Park, while for birdwatching, UNESCO World Heritage Site Keoladeo National park along with Tal Chhapar, Van Vihar, and Jorbeed make for the best destinations in the state. The Desert National Park is home to the critically endangered species of Great Indian Bustard. Apart from these, Rajasthan is home to a large number of leopards, blackbuck, great Indian spotted eagle, and marsh crocodiles.
The Sanctuaries, an isolated landscape with some backdrops, that attracts herds of species from all over to their temporary habitat that provides comfortable subsistence. In the season time, the whole place echoes with enchanting sounds and fascinating visuals against the sprawling meadow of flora. Rajasthan is the haven of the tigers and many endangered species.
Geographically, Rajasthan can be divided into four regions, each distinctive—the desert in the north and west, the Aravalli hills in the middle, the alluvial Indo-Gangetic plains in the east, and the Vindhyan hills and the Deccan trap in the south and south-eastern parts of the state-with ecosystems that support a variety of wildlife. Till a hundred years ago the Asiatic lion, now confined to the Gir forests of Gujarat, and the cheetah, now extinct in India, were found in many parts of the state. Sightings of herds of over a thousand antelopes was not unusual. The range and number of these antelopes has declined with the increase in human population and the ploughing of marginal lands-yet, large herds can still be spotted in the state’s non-forest areas. Tigers and their prey animals, deer and wild boar, are essentially forest animals and are, therefore, confined to the Aravalli and Vindhyan hills. Two protected regions have been included under Project Tiger. Although the tiger is an elusive animal, yet the chances of seeing one in the dry deciduous forests of Rajasthan is better than in most other tiger reserves.

Landscapes of Madhya Pradesh
If you have always felt like exploring new and interesting places and not just following the crowd. Then this tour is for you. In this Jungle safari you will travel to two little known and seldom visited tiger reserves. Whilst we will be of course looking for tiger throughout we will also be occupying our time in Satpura and Panna National Parks with with searches for sloth bears, dhole, leopards, gaur, striped hyenas and jungle cats to name but a few. This tour will not only combine day time safaris but also (very unusual for India) spotlighting night safaris. Searching for animals by day and night is a new experience in India and all of a sudden animals which were deemed impossible to see are being spotted; such as striped hyena and leopard cats. Satpura and Panna are on the rise but if you book soon you may still be the only foreign people inside the park.
Declared as a Tiger Reserve under Project Tiger in 1999-2000, Satpura is relatively new park with less hustle of tourists. It’s perhaps one of the best kept secrets of Madhya Pradesh. Sprawled across an area of 1427 sq km, Satpura shines with pristine natural beauty enhanced by the serene Denwa River. Surrounded by mountains, one enters the park through the backwaters of River Denwa which is an experience in itself. Although famous for Leopards and Sloth Bears, Satpura holds a good population of tigers too
Spread across an area of 666.40 sq km, Panna National Park was established in 1981. Like Satpura, Panna is a serene park with comparatively lesser flow of tourists. The park had lost all its Tiger population by early 1990 mainly due to poaching but it has now regained its tiger population and the sightings have become good. It’s an ideal place for tourists who wish to see tigers but at the same time want to escape the crowd of other tourists.

Snow Leopard Expedition
There is nothing like a Spiti Valley Jeep safari to drive through stunning landscapes of this unexplored Himalayan Land. Begin the venture from Chandigarh and drive over the enchanting Narkanda - a small town that transforms into a buzzing ski resort in winters. Then travel by road following morning to the village of Sangla, situated at an altitude of about 8,900 feet.To be honest, nobody can describe Spiti Valley better than Rudyard Kipling, when he says: “At last, they entered a world – a valley of leagues where the high hills were fashioned of the mere rubble and refuse from off the knees of the mountains… Surely the Gods live here. Beaten down by the silence and the appalling sweep of dispersal of the cloud-shadows after rain. This place is no place for men.”Spiti, known to be ‘The Middle Land’ between India & Tibet, experiences a harsh winter that stretches from November till March and not many people dare to visit during the freezing season.

Call of the Wild
There are many incredible wildlife experiences to be had around the world but it is the wildlife of Africa that continues to draw gasps of wonder from visitors. Immortalised over time African wildlife is one of the top travel attractions in the world.
Earnest Hemingway wrote: 'There can be no greater sight than that of a full-maned lion on the plains of Africa', and yes this is indeed a magnificent image, but Africa has far more than these scenes occurring daily. Renowned for its unrivalled imagery and drama the African wildlife and wilderness will never fail to inspire those who embrace it.
The great wildebeest migration is one of the most phenomenal natural spectacles in the world. It is an annual movement by millions of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, Grant’s gazelle, Thompson’s gazelle, elands and impalas across the greater Masai Mara-Serengeti ecosystem.
From July to September the Mara welcomes the Great Migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara in Kenya. During the wildebeest migration, you will witness how the constant battle for survival makes the Migration Season a particularly exhilarating time to visit Masai Mara.
The Mara River crossing activity is considered the climax of the migration period. Mara River crossing is an event that will take you through a range of emotions: anticipation, heartache, inspiration, excitement and so much more. The sheer sight of the first herds of animals rushing into the crocodile-infested river will make you long for this wildebeest migration every year.
